A Week in Florida: Girls Trip Edition

The second part to my adventure series: Feb 2021 // Girls Trip to FT Lauderdale with two mini road trips to Miami and Orlando

This trip was a totally different vibe than my first trip to FL - and definitely more fabulous!

Pro tip: set up a tinder profile for the sole purpose of finding sexy locals to show you around. (Pic 3) Unfortunately, while in FT Lauderdale, you’ll match with a bunch of people who actually live in Miami and are not interested in driving anywhere for any reason. But, the random d*ck pics and wild profiles are amazing entertainment for a girl’s trip. If you go with a friend who’s well aquatinted with the tinder-verse, you still won’t get any legit matches, but you’ll get to watch her get free drinks for the entire trip. All that to say - make sure you brought your wallet.

Girl’s Trip Itinerary:

✈️ Fly into FT. Lauderdale

🚙 Uber and Lyft

Dinner: Try to the tropical guacamole, chicken al pastor tacos, and prickly pear margaritas with a beachy vibe at TacoCraft (Pic 4&5)
Walk along the Las Olas beachfront or do some shopping on Los Olas Boulevard
Head to Rooftop @1WLO bar (Pic 6&7) for gorgeous views, delicious (Miami-priced) cocktails, and a bustling nightlife…but only after ubering to the apartment of a tinder guy who said he was home and invited you to pregame, stand outside in cute outfits and get sent to VM 3x before finding out he is whoops in a “meeting” and unavailable. Make the decision that all guys come to us from now on.

Day 2:
Grab a delicious brunch right on the beach; fresh smoothies, healthy Mexican cuisine (read: avocado toast on one side of the menu and tacos on the other), and giant insta-worthy fish bowl margaritas at Solluna. (Pic 1-3)

Sunbathe on the beach (Pic 4&5). Bonus points if you’re next to a group of tanned locals with a cooler full of tequila to get the beach day experience…but first walk 1.2 miles to the lifeguard shack of a firefighter your BFF matched with for you because he’s more your type than hers, just to say hello and confirm he is, in fact, too short to continue talking too. Sorry boo. Swipe left. Uber back because that was all too much effort, this is vacation after all.

Party time! A girl’s trip to Miami would not be complete without a visit to the Wharf. An open-air, nautical-themed, pet-friendly event space. Perfect for dressing slutty, taking cheap shots with men who brought their adorable dogs as chick bait, and dancing to loud, vibrant music. (Pic 6-8)

Day 3:
Cure the hangover of girl’s night with a McDonald’s large black coffee and a hashbrown Doordashed to the AirBnB (isn’t that everyone’s go-to hangover cure? No? Just me?). Once you’ve collected yourself, head over to Brew Next Door. A funky cafe with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and talented baristas. Definitely an insta-worthy vibe. I have read that BND has decided to relocate, definitely check out the new location as I’m sure it will be just as neat as the one we visited!

Have brunch all day at a quaint outdoor oasis: Bulegreen Cafe Yard. Fresh, delicious food with amazing lattes in a secret garden - yes please! (Pic 2). Try the Moo Moo (coffee mixed with condensed milk, cinnamon and cacao) or the Bule (Bule is the name of the traditional Brazillian pot used to brew pour-over coffee at the table).

Road trip!

Time for your friend to text an old friend from college to drive us to Miami so we can have the full hot girl Florida experience. We’re boujee so first stop: Baia Beach Club. This is where you wear your six-inch stilettos poolside to attract a man who’s going to take you exploring the sandy beaches on his yacht. I forgot my stilettos, hence no yacht *sad face*. The drinks are good. The view is gorgeous. The vibes are…slightly odd. That could be due to the lack of a yacht-owning man by my side during the experience though, so take that as you will. (Pics 3-5)

Dinner and hookah (popped my hookah cherry, it only took a few dozen tries to get a video that actually had visible smoke aesthetic) at the Hookah bar at Kanoli right on Ocean DR (Watch the reel to see the video, Pic 6)

Grab a fabulous charcoal ice cream with 24k gold foil at Icy n Spicy Dessert Shop. Even in February…expect it to melt almost instantly, plan insta pics accordingly (Pic 7&8)

Day 4:

Shake off last night’s hookah haze with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch dirty chai latte from Java & Jam (Pic 1). Extend your flight by two days and rent a car because we are young and free and heading to the land where princesses roam. Windows down and Orlando bound via the iconic Florida A1A🥳

Dinner of gourmet pizza at Pizza Bruno. Try the Blanca (Lemon Ricotta, Garlic, Rosemary, Mozzarella, Arugula, Grana Padano) or the Ninety-Two (Fresh Mozzarella, Italian Sausage, Roasted Red Peppers, Mushrooms, Red Onions, Olives, Oregano, Chili Flakes, Pecorino). (Pic 2&3)

Day 5:
Take a day to explore and drink your way around the world at Epcot in the rain (Pics 5-14). Heyyyyy Mickey and Minnie 👋🏻 If you only have one day, I always recommend Epcot. There are a few rides to enjoy, absolutely incredible food, there are so many amazing spots to adventure and get lost - random corridors and alleys through the different countries, and you can wander through the park with a margarita at 11AM btw, we discovered the perfect spot to have some forbidden public s*x - the Skyliner, but upon further research - you’ll be forever banned from the park if you’re caught soooo don’t get caught ;)

Pro-tip: I highly recommend a hotel that has a hot tub, your sore muscles will love you for it. It’s a lot more work than it seems to explore a park!

✈️ upgrade to first class for the endless whiskey to drown the sadness of another epic adventure coming to an end
