Sweet Potato Brownies
DFT has taken a beautiful turn. The cooking shows have been put on pause and the entirety of the DFT kitchen has been adjusted, purified, and redirected towards a new way of living: The Vibrance Protocol.
The Vibrance Protocol is a way of living, a connection to soul wisdom and the internal guidance system that flows within each of us. She is all-knowing. A beacon of light to heal our past wounds and to point us in the direction of our Dharma and our vibrance. Vibrance begins with the foods we’re eating - they’re either recentering and solidifying our connection or they’re pulling us away from our due North, like a magnet to a compass.
I’m explaining the VP in greater detail in a later blog post - but for now, enjoy the latest and greatest plant based recipes that are taking over DFT! First things first: Sometimes a girl just needs a brownie! End of story.
Brownies don’t have to be a dirty word - they can be lucious, fudgy, and oh-so chocolat-y while actually being warming and grounding to our doshas.
Sweet Potato Brownies
Ingredients:
- 2 TBSP ground flaxseed
- 6 TBsp water
- 1 sweet potato (baked with the skin removed)
- 1/4 c melted coconut oil
- 1 c + 1/4 c sunflower seed butter
- 8 drops monk fruit sweetener
- 1/2 c carob powder
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
- 1/2 t sea salt
- 1/2 t baking soda
- Dairy & sugar free chocolate chips or carob chips
The deets:
Oven: 375
Bake time: 30 - 40 minutes
Make flax eggs by mixing the flax and water. Let sit until thick & gelatinous. Combine all ingredients (except choco chips; using only 1 c sunflower butter) and process until smooth. Add in additional water if necessary to get the desired smooth and creamy consistency. Stir in the chocolate chips. Use the additional 1/4 c sunflower butter to create swirls in the brownie batter.
Bake until the top is firm and Voila!
