Goddess Must-Reads

Every beautiful Goddess begins her journey with a burning desire to learn more. My journey with books began when I was a little girl – I had a ferocious appetite for reading and spent my summers curled up with a bag of sunflower seeds and a book. Well…many books. I read every single Trixie Beldon, Nancy Drew, and Hardy Boys mystery novel ever created.

Now that I’m older, my choice in books has changed. For a long time, I didn’t read at all. When I got a desire to pick up a book again, I started with Malcolm Gladwell and slowly I started to feed my burning desire to learn with non-fiction books. I now have several bookcases filled with books that I can’t wait to read or I’ve already finished. I remember the days when I first began trying to find books to fill my soul with information that felt interesting and fun. It was hard to find books I actually wanted to spend my time reading! So, I have curated a list of my favorites to help you find inspiration and begin your own journey with the fascinating world living within pages. This week I’m sharing my favorite deep dives into spirituality for the modern woman.

Spiritual Reads for the Modern Goddess

Super Attractor by Gabby Bernstein

I’m starting with this book because it is one of my absolute favorites. This book is fantastic for the modern woman because she dives into spirituality with a basis of reason, not just woo-woo ideas with no explanations. Gabby helps make metaphysical concepts feel modern and approachable. If you have not opened your mind fully to the idea of Spirit Guides and meditative experiences, you may want to start with her other book – the Universe Has Your Back.

The Universe Has Your Back by Gabby Bernstein

TUHYB uses a hands-on approach to connect with the universe. Gabby provides simple Kundalini meditations to center your mind and help you reconnect to your inner power. She uses her own personal experience and journey to healing to help you feel comfortable with your own feelings of shame or embarrassment along your journey. This is an excellent book to help soothe your soul while giving you tools to feel a deeper connection to the universe around you. This book was my introduction to Gabby and her teachings – she is an incredible teacher and I highly recommend subscribing to her newsletter!

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

The amazing woman behind Eat, Pray, Love has another bestseller – Big Magic. It’s an amazing read filled with inspiration to follow creativity and enjoyment in life. My biggest take away was a profound new concept about ideas and how things come to be in the physical world. If inspiration and creativity are of interest to you, you’ll want to pick up this book and allow Gilbert to lead you on a journey filled with authenticity and new ways to perceive the world.

Buddhism Plain & Simple: The Practice of Being Aware, Right Now, Every Day by Steve Hagen

Buddhism has always been fascinating to me. While I love yoga, meditation, and following the breath I couldn’t quite wrap my mind around the idea of a monk. Honestly, I’d never formally studied Buddhism and allowed movies and societal ideas to shape my thinking around their beliefs. This book helped me to uncover the truth of Buddhism in simple-to-understand language. It’s a must-read if you desire to understand their culture and delve into the concept of enlightenment.

Light is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Souls Callings and Working Your Light by Rebecca Campbell

I honestly bought this book because that name is fire and it lived up to it’s captivating name. “I pray that you find the inspiration, courage, confidence, inner support, and practical tools not only to act on the unique callings of your soul, but to let them lead your life…The world doesn’t just need light; it needs your unique light.” This is a guidebook for the modern woman who desires to break free and light up the world.

Of course, there are many other books that I absolutely love! In the future, I’ll be writing about epic reads in other categories like health, wealth, business, and love life. I’ve also got a few guidebook recommendations that are a must-use if you would love to work directly with a coach but are unable to afford it. Stay tuned! ~ MY MUST READS PART II is now up on the blog!

What are your favorite books? Tell me in the comments – I love getting suggestions to add to my list!
