The Goddess Journal: Patience is not my Greatest Virtue

Hello Gorgeous ladies šŸ’‹

I figure we might as well get right to the point considering the topic today. Today I am consumed with feelings of impatience. Not just todayā€¦.most days this week have been a pretty interesting vibe.

Do you know what it feels like to practice or begin something only to establish deadlines (maybe even arbitrary deadlines) in your mind and then stress about outcomes? For example, think about rent. Rent is due on the first of the month and you go ā€˜ok, I need to manifest X by the 1st so I can pay rentā€™. And then manifesting principles tell you to let go of the outcome, let go of the how, let go of the timeframe. And in your logical mind youā€™re likeā€¦yea thatā€™s great, the universe needs room to make things happen but how am I supposed to release time when ā€“ I CAN GET EVICTED?!

Thatā€™s not my situation. However, Iā€™m intimately familiar with that very same situation and many others just like it.

LETā€™S BREAK THIS SHIT DOWN

>> THE VERY FIRST THING TO DO

when youā€™re ripping your hair out or mascara is streaming down your face in an ultra extra breakdown (this has never been me, of courseā€¦Iā€™ve just heard tell of stories of these ultra extra and dramatic moments *wink wink*) is to take a walk. Did you see my stories this week? There were definitely some mascara stains underneath my giant Prada sunglasses (10/10 recommend for hangovers and tears) as I walked circles around my neighborhood. I talked with you ladies about needing a break, removing myself from all the manifesting techniques, the trainings, the actionā€¦stoping it all for a little while so I could reset.

Why take a walk? Because thereā€™s nothing like the outdoor air, the new surroundings, the movement, and the chance to remove yourself from the situation; clear your head, watch the weird neighbors, listen to the birds chirping, plant yourself in the moment and release whatever is circling around in your head. If you are still struggling with holding onto the feelings, do something really intense ā€“ go for a run, boxing, an intense spin class, something that pushes you physically so you donā€™t have time for thinking.

and you feel more realistic or calm ā€“ now itā€™s time to revisit the situation. Journal all of your fears. Get them out of your head and onto paper. Very rarely am I a fan of ā€œfeeling the intensity of your feelingsā€; many teachers and coaches teach the benefits of sitting with your negative feelings and allowing them to envelope you until you get to the other side of them. I donā€™t agree with this method because it doesnā€™t work for me ā€“ with my depression, I sit in those emotions and thereā€™s no other sideā€¦just months of built up negativity that slowly incapacitates me. Instead, I need to get the bullshit out of my head as quickly as possible.

Write down all the stories ā€“ and list them ALL out; all the reasons why it might not work, all the nervousness, all the fears, all the mean-girl vibes flowing through you need to be on that paper. At the top of the page, write MY BULLSHIT STORIES.

Go through the list, read each one, and say ā€˜I chose to see this differently. Universe, help me to see this through the eyes of love and help me to see the opportunities and possibilitiesā€™

begin to list out all the possibilities and emotions of things working out perfectly- what if your rent was paid on time with no problemā€¦what if the money just appeared and everything was fine? How would you feel if it all worked out ok? If it helps you to list out all the ways money could come to you to open yourself up to all of the possibilities ā€“ do it! If it helps you to write out a journal entry dated the 1st of the month, written with you excitedly paying your rent on time ā€“ do it!

>> NOW, REVIEW YOUR POSITIVE LIST EVERY SINGLE DAY

Find some great parts of that list that make you feel really excited/inspired/high-vibe and create notifications to go off daily, either at a time or location (if you have iPhone). For example, ā€˜the universe loves to shower me with everything I desire, quickly and with easeā€™.

Everytime you begin to think the negative thoughts or feel the anxiety of the situation begin to creep in ā€“ take out your positive list (take a pic of it and save it somewhere easy to find) and read through all of your excited possibilities. Imagine them happening and feel how excited it will be to have it all work out perfectly. Nip the negative in the bud (I always thought it was buttā€¦not bud. Still kinda like butt better).

THE GARDEN OF OUR LIFE

What we focus on grows into the garden of our life. Itā€™s normal and typical for our garden to be a scary place with evil things lurking around every corner ā€“ we are conditioned to fear the world around us and have anxiety about the possibilities of the future because weā€™re ā€˜preparing for the worstā€™. But we donā€™t have to settle for these ideas and other peopleā€™s fears. We can begin to clear those nasty, negative lurking creatures out of our garden and begin to create a beautiful and safe place for our thoughts to reside.

Sure, bad things happen and we have to figure out how to get around it, how to navigate it, how to find the positive of it all. We can do that without focusing on the negativity of it ā€“ if you do miss the rent payment, what can you do about it? You can always just sulk and cry and freak out and run around like a hot mess not getting anything accomplished (I plead guilty). Or you can open yourself up to the possibilities of fixing the situation. One woman had a landlord say ā€“ ā€˜Merry Christmas, donā€™t worry about rent this monthā€™ when she explained she didnā€™t have the money on time. You have no idea what could happen! Stay open and positive to the possibilities.

PATIENCE IS NOT MY GREATEST VIRUTE

None of these steps involve patience. To me, relying on the universe no longer includes patience. So ā€“ Iā€™ve decided to stop thinking that word and instead Iā€™m focused on action and alignment. Iā€™m not being patient and you donā€™t have to either. Every single day we should be actively manifesting, journaling, immersing our bodies and mind with the potential and possibilities in our life. Taking action that we feel inspired to do while asking the Universe for guidance. And working towards our goals every single day!

Iā€™m no longer patient ā€“ Iā€™m claiming whatā€™s mine and Iā€™m spending every single day uprooting all of the negativity that is in the way, planting new, inspired thoughts, and following the Universe guidance to get me to where I want to go. I am going to set guidelines for things to occur by because why shouldnā€™t I be able to get things by a certain time? And Iā€™m going to spend everyday knowing that the universe will bring me what I desire ā€˜or something betterā€™ by my deadline because Iā€™m doing the work to make it happen. I show up on time for everything I sign up for ā€“ and the universe always shows up on time for me.
