When Negativity Strikes: Resources for a Return to High-Vibes

THE WORLD IS FULL OF A LOT OF FEAR AND A LOT OF NEGATIVITY, AND A LOT OF JUDGEMENT. I JUST THINK PEOPLE NEED TO START SHIFTING INTO JOY AND HAPPINESS. AS CORNY AS IT SOUNDS, WE NEED TO MAKE A SHIFT. – ELLEN DEGENERES

For us ladies, negativity can be rampant in our minds. It’s like a virus that we become programmed with close to birth and it feeds on our light within us, soon it becomes normal and we can’t imagine a world without it. 

I’ve spent the past couple of days with a gloomy little cloud following me around. I’ve noticed myself creating scenarios in my mind where I have to defend myself, fight others around me, and feel the stress levels rise inside of me. Of course, this manifests into conflict in my external world. All the while, I’ve continued my practice of returning to a high vibration, a frequency that is above negativity. But, even so, my days have been filled with more negative vibes than high vibes.

AS MARIANNE WILLIAMSON SAYS SO ELOQUENTLY IN HER BOOK, A RETURN TO LOVE: I SPENT YEARS AS AN ANGRY LEFT-WINGER BEFORE I REALIZED THAT AN ANGRY GENERATION CAN’T BRING PEACE. EVERYTHING WE DO IS INFUSED WITH THE ENERGY IN WHICH WE DO IT. AS GANDHI SAID, “WE MUST BE THE CHANGE.” WHAT THE EGO DOESN’T WANT US TO SEE IS THAT THE GUNS WE NEED TO GET RID OF FIRST ARE THE GUNS IN OUR OWN HEADS.

It’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to want to sleep on the couch instead of grinding away on the computer. It’s ok to not want to go in public because the chaotic energy is so intense. It’s ok to take a few days and allow your feelings to be. This is a permission slip to be ok with not always feeling positive, perfect, light, and fabulous. As long as we don’t stay there. After we’ve allowed ourselves the gift of a time to process what we are feeling, we have to pick ourselves up and return to high-vibes.

This blog post is infused with the loving, healing energy of returning to our higher state of love and light. After spending some time grappling with negativity, I wanted to share my resources for lifting myself up. Our choosing to return to our highest vibration is as simple as beginning to allow yourself to let go of the low vibes. No, the choice to release these feelings may not instantly cure your negative mood. However, it will begin the shift – making it easier to flow into better and better thoughts. If you’re new to shifting negative thoughts to positive ones, it will take more time and patience. Don’t give up on yourself! The more you train your mind to release low vibes and flow into a higher vibration, the easier it will become. 

There are so many amazing tools for shifting the mindset when you’re first beginning to reprogram your mind. If you feel that it’s hard to stick to a morning routine or that life swoops in and catches you off guard, before you can catch yourself spiraling into negative thought patterns, you’re not alone. I felt this way for a long time as I stumbled through my journey trying to find what worked for me. I read countless books on mindset, neuroscience, negativity, shame, positive thoughts, quantum shifting, and subconscious reprogramming.
